Epicuro Lab Collective
Epicuro Lab was founded in 2022 following a collaboration on the Roots & Seeds XXI project, initiated by art producer and curator Tatiana Kourochkina, director of Quo Artis. She invited Gabino Carballo, a landscape designer, project manager, and agrobiologist, to join the initiative, laying the foundation for the collective's multidisciplinary approach. The collective began its collaborative work with Claudia Schnugg in a Community Allelopathy workshop, as part of the participation of Roots & Seeds XXI at Ars Electronica.
With a multidisciplinary approach, Epicuro Lab is an open platform for collaborations between artists and cultural agents. It explores urban ecology as a space where human interventions shape and often disrupt natural ecosystems.Epicuro Lab designs social workshops linked to the current biodiversity crisis, creates ephemeral works, and expands knowledge about biodiversity in urban environments.
