
Robertina Šebjanič
She focuses her research on the cultural, (bio) political and ecological realities of aquatic ecosystems, using this as a starting point to investigate and address philosophical questions about the intersection of art, science and technology. Šebjanič’s work has been awarded in 2016 with the honourable mention of interactive art @Prix Ars Electronica and in the same year she was nominated for the STARTS2016 award, as well as the White Aphroid award. During 2017 Šebjanič was an artist of the SHAPE 2017 platform and was also selected in the TOP 5 project of The Universal Sea platform. She has done residencies at Ars Electronica EMARE / EMAP (2018); Ariel / Sparks of Galway (2019). Šebjanič has participated in both individual and collective exhibitions, as well as in galleries and festivals such as: Ars Electronica, Linz; Kosmica Festival: Laboratorio Arte Alameda, Mexico City; Arts Santa Mónica, Barcelona; Matadero, Madrid; La Gaîté Lyrique, Paris; Le Cube, Paris; Art Laboratory Berlin; Zentrum für Kunst und Medien, Karlsruhe; FACT, Liverpool; Mladi Levi, Ljublijana; Duch Design Week, Eindhoven; EYE Museum, Amsterdam; amongst others.
